1. Pawn Loan Terms

All transactions at Pawnshop Bowness (#125, 6404 Bowness Road NW, Calgary, AB T3B 0E7) are pawn loans. When you pawn an item, you receive a collateral-based cash loan. The standard loan period is 30 days from the date of the transaction, with an additional 7-day grace period. You may reclaim your item at any time during the loan period or grace period by repaying the loan amount plus the applicable service fee.

2. Item Storage & Insurance

All pawned items are stored securely in our facility and are fully insured against loss, theft, and damage while in our possession. We take every reasonable precaution to ensure the safety of your belongings.

3. Extensions

If you need additional time beyond the 30-day loan period and 7-day grace period, extensions may be available. Please contact us in person or by phone at 587-391-4364 to discuss extension options before your loan term expires.

4. Unretrieved Items

If you choose not to reclaim your item within the loan period (including any grace period or approved extensions), the item becomes the property of Pawnshop Bowness and will become available in our sales inventory. This is in accordance with Alberta’s Pawn Brokers Act.

5. Online Purchase Terms

All items sold through our website (pawnshopbowness.com) and third-party platforms (eBay, Reverb, Kijiji, Facebook Marketplace) are pre-owned unless otherwise stated. Items are sold in as-is condition. We describe items as accurately as possible and include photos, but minor wear consistent with pre-owned status should be expected. We ship across Canada for most items. Some large or heavy items are available for local pickup only.

6. Identification Requirements

As required by Alberta law and FINTRAC (Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada) regulations, all pawn transactions require two pieces of identification: one government-issued photo ID and one supporting ID. This is a legal requirement and cannot be waived.

7. FINTRAC Compliance

Pawnshop Bowness is fully compliant with FINTRAC regulations and Alberta’s Pawn Brokers Act. We are required to maintain records of all transactions and report certain transactions as mandated by law.

8. Limitation of Liability

While we take every precaution to protect your items, Pawnshop Bowness’s liability for any pawned item is limited to the loan amount provided for that item. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

9. Privacy

Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. All transactions are conducted with discretion and confidentiality.
